I am calling on the Scottish Government to support SPT's plans to invest in the future of the Glasgow Subway. The subway has only been modernised twice in its existence and is now facing an uncertain future without Government funding. The subway needs to be more accessible for those with mobility issues and an extension of opening hours.

The Scottish Government have so far refused to commit to the business plan and funding package needed to upgrade the subway and bring it up to the required modern safety standards. Without the promise of a government grant, the Subway faces a bleak future of decline and closure.
